2017
The year ended with A Summer Exhibition at the Trades Hall in Camp Street, Ballarat.
Ballarat Society of Artists enjoyed having an exhibition at the St Patrick’s Hall during the Apron Festival on the 27th and 28th May. A great weekend with art and cards sold. Most of our Art stands were utilised by the Apron Festival with the beautiful display of their aprons.
Ballarat Society of Artists Inc. were present at the National Trust Heritage Mill Event at the Anderson’s Mill at Smeaton May 13th & 14th, 2017.
Two members and experienced art teachers, Yolanda Pilepich and Trudy Nicholson convened art workshops and there was a display of art for sale.
This was a fantastic event in a wonderful location and hopefully, members in the future can utilise the Mill area for Plein Air painting.

The Annual Art Exhibition was held over the Easter weekend at the Robert Clark Centre. It was one of the most successful weekends we have had in a while. Many artworks purchased and plenty of cards sold. The Raffle prize donated by Lyn Cooke proved very popular.

Another year of helping with the “Young Archies”
(Picture taken from The Courier website 9th October, 2016) Masterpieces: Young Archies coordinator Shiree Pilkinton with Ballarat Society of Artists volunteers John Canham, Sue Clarke and Trudy Nicholson. Picture: Kate Healy http://www.thecourier.com.au/story/4209539/voting-soon-to-close-for-young-archies/ Many members have been very busy over the last couple of weeks with the “Young Archies” as part of the Archibald Prize Exhibition. It has been a very busy time for all and very rewarding to be part of this activity once again. This is another example of how our Society is involved with the promotion of art within the local community.
On October 12th, Some members attended the Volunteers’ Evening for the Archibald Prize as a thanks for our work with the “Young Archies”.
