peter latchford

Peter Latchford only took up painting in his mid sixties when a health problem forced him into retirement from his own consulting practice.  After a busy career, his painting keeps him pleasantly occupied.  Peter paints what he sees in his unique style incorporating light and shade.

He and his wife Alison have travelled extensively.  Peter understands the colours of the Australian outback, one of his favourite subjects.

Using his own photographs from these adventures, Peter paints old buildings and streetscapes as well as cattleman’s huts that he and Alison visited in the high country.  He also enjoys painting seascapes and the paddle steamers on the Murray from Echuca, Swan Hill and Mildura.

Peter hopes that others will find pleasure in his art, just as he finds the enjoyment in creating the paintings.
